Ruminating and stressing about work, outside of work, is something my old business coach Raghav Parkash knows I’m only too guilty of, sometimes allowing thoughts to spiral to illogical conclusions. My favourite quote from him (which he may have borrowed from somebody else) was “worry is a waste of your imagination.

This short TED talk by psychologist Guy Winch explores the (physical) damage it can do and how to flip it around. It’s common sense but really powerful nonetheless, a simple new way of thinking to work into your evening and weekend routines.

I closed the door to my office every night, but the door in my head remained wide-open and the stress just flooded in.
